Miss Jose hailing from Kerala thought of substituting the electric washing machine with a mechanical one. A science student, she came with this innovation at a young age of 14.
She drew the basic diagram of the machine and its functioning and her father took it to a nearby automobile workshop and requested the workers to work on it during their spare hours. Ms Jose also met them personally to explain how exactly she wanted it to be made and function.
